The KA-BAR TDI Law Enforcement Knives are optimized for low profile or concealed carry and are effective for close quarter’s defense. What makes them so good? There are a lot of carefully thought-out factors.

Grip: The angles, textures and contours of the grip are just right for easy access and a firm hold. The knives are designed to prevent the hand from slipping and overriding the blade.

Blade: The shapes and sizes of the blades maximize instinctive moves during a confrontation, whether using in a forward or reverse grip.

Holster: (Sheath) The sheaths and knives are ambidextrous and can be worn on either side of the body-at the weak or strong hand. This knife is found by the hand easily, comes into the hand efficiently, and does the job needed well, all in the cramped, confined chaos of a fight.

Sold with MOLLE compatible hard plastic sheath that is fitted with reversible nylon webbing straps to mount to pant and duty belts, tactical vests, and more.

John Benner

Only a 33-year veteran police Lieutenant could truly understand what makes a knife effective for close-quarters defense. While serving as President and Chief Instructor of Tactical Defense Institute, John Benner saw time and time again what he already believed to be true from first-hand experience: In a conflict, fine motor skills deteriorate and gross motor skills are most effective for fending off assailants.

Benner then set out to design a low-profile fixed blade knife for law enforcement, military and security personnel that could be drawn quickly and efficiently in times of duress.

After more than a year of prototype samples and in-field testing, the Benner-approved TDI knife was put into production. The same basic principles that founded that first knife were incorporated into all future TDI models, which now complete an expansive line of tactical knives.
