The Long Titanium Spork solves a problem every backpacker knows: a standard-length utensil does not reach the bottom of a tall freeze-dried meal pouch or an MRE container without getting food all over your knuckles, and the last few bites end up wasted or worn. At 9.65 inches this spork reaches all the way down, cleanly, every time.
That length has a second benefit in cold weather: it works with gloved hands. On a multi-day winter trip, taking gloves off to eat is a real cost, and a longer handle keeps you efficient without doing that. The bottom edge of the bowl is squared rather than rounded so it can get into the corners of a pouch and scrape it genuinely clean.
It is machined from 100% pure titanium, which is the right material for a backcountry utensil for several reasons at once: it is lighter than stainless steel, it will not crack or snap the way a plastic utensil does in the cold, it does not corrode, and it does not hold onto flavors or odors between meals. This spork weighs just 0.8 ounces despite its size, helped by a pattern of cutout holes through the handle that remove material and add grip at the same time. The handle has a satin finish, and there is an oversized carabiner hole so it clips to the outside of a pack or a cook kit.
It measures 9.65 by 1.75 inches, is made in the USA, and is covered by Exotac's lifetime warranty. If you want something that fits inside a cook mug or a pocket instead, the Short Titanium Spork is the compact counterpart at 4.25 inches and 0.3 ounces. Both sporks are machined rather than stamped, so the edges are finished and the balance is right in the hand, and both are the kind of buy-it-once utensil that outlives the packs and stoves it travels with.
