The candleTIN Nano is the answer to a simple question: what is the smallest useful survival candle you can carry without noticing the weight? It is a lightweight, packable version of Exotac's beeswax candle, the same footprint as a standard tealight, and each one weighs less than an ounce. That size makes the decision easy: there is no real reason not to have one in a first-aid kit, a glovebox, a day pack, and a bug-out bag.
Despite the size, each candle delivers at least four hours of burn time. That is enough to get a small group through the dark part of an unplanned night, to provide a little added warmth in a confined space like a tent or a stalled car, or to do fire-craft work: drying out damp tinder before you try to light it, or terminating the cut end of synthetic cordage so it does not fray. In an emergency, a small steady flame is worth a disproportionate amount, and the candleTIN Nano is a way to guarantee you have one.
The wax is 100% beeswax, made in house from start to finish, the same material as the full-size candleTIN. Beeswax burns cleaner than paraffin, is free of petroleum products, and holds up in the cold without cracking. Each candle sits in its own durable, reusable screw-top tin, which threads closed to protect it in a pack and can be refilled or reused afterward.
The Nano is sold as a three-pack so you can seed several kits at once. Where the full-size candleTIN is a configurable light-and-heat tool, the Nano is deliberately simple: small, cheap enough to distribute widely, and covered by Exotac's lifetime warranty. Three candles for the price of a fast-food meal is the kind of low-cost, high-consequence item that belongs in every kit you own, from the car to the canoe to the office desk drawer.
* 3 Candles per pack
If you want a larger, but still packable version, the candleTIN is the same wax in a 3-wick format.
